Our client is seeking a forward-thinking Accounting Process Engineer to help modernize and transform the way accounting and assurance work is delivered. This is a non-traditional opportunity for someone with accounting or audit experience who is passionate about process improvement, automation, and integrating AI into professional services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and improve processes across accounting and assurance functions.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive and inefficient workflows.
• Explore and implement practical AI solutions across the firm.
• Analyze existing processes and develop more efficient, scalable approaches.
• Lead modernization initiatives from planning through implementation.
• Collaborate with accounting, audit, and leadership teams to understand operational challenges.
• Translate accounting knowledge into innovative technology and process solutions.
• Develop workflows, procedures, and systems that improve quality and efficiency.
• Monitor the effectiveness of new processes and recommend further improvements.
• Help foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Ideal Background

• Accounting or audit experience within a CPA firm.
• Strong understanding of accounting and/or assurance processes.
• Genuine passion for automation, AI, and emerging technologies.
• Creative, analytical, and highly process-driven mindset.
• Ability to think beyond traditional accounting responsibilities.
• Strong problem-solving and process-design skills.
• Comfortable questioning existing processes and developing better solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Consultant or engineering-style approach to solving business problems.
• Interest in using technology to modernize accounting and audit practices.
