Audit Manager – Saddle Brook, New Jersey
Job Description
Our client is seeking an Audit Manager to lead financial statement audit, review, and compilation engagements for closely held businesses. This is a hands-on role for a CPA with construction audit experience who is comfortable managing several engagements at once and working directly with owners, CFOs, and controllers.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, manage, supervise, and complete audit, review, and compilation engagements
- Manage each engagement from initial planning through financial statement issuance, including staffing, fieldwork, review, and completion
- Supervise, review, and mentor staff accountants
- Review workpapers and financial statements for compliance with professional standards and firm policies
- Take part in staff development, recruiting, and performance evaluations
- Assist partners with client relationship management and the continued growth of the practice
Key requirements
- Active CPA license
- 8+ years of public accounting experience
- Construction industry audit experience, including percentage of completion, WIP schedules, job costing, revenue recognition, change orders, and retainage
- Experience with audits, reviews, and compilations of privately held businesses
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements and engagement teams simultaneously
- Strong financial statement preparation and review skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to client service, professional development, and staff mentoring
- Working knowledge of CCH Engagement is a plus
Experience with manufacturing, distribution, or real estate clients is also relevant to the role.

Salary Range: $135,000–$170,000 based on experience and qualifications.
