Tax Managers / Senior Managers – Knoxville, Tennessee

Job Description

Our client is seeking experienced tax professionals to join its team in Knoxville at the manager and senior manager level. The role combines technical tax work, review responsibility and client and stakeholder advisory.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review federal, state and local tax compliance engagements and filings

• Oversee tax provision work and review supporting analyses

• Research tax issues and prepare clear technical recommendations

• Identify planning opportunities and advise on risk and efficiency

• Coach, develop and review the work of junior team members

• Manage deadlines, workflow and quality across multiple engagements

• Support responses to tax authority notices and inquiries

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field; advanced degree or CPA preferred

• Substantial progressive experience in public accounting, industry or a comparable tax environment

• Strong working knowledge of U.S. federal and multistate tax principles

• Proven ability to review work and manage staff

• Clear written and verbal communication skills

• Sound judgment, attention to detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines
