Structural Engineer (PE)

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced, licensed Structural Engineer to contribute to building design projects in Chicago. This opportunity is suited to a PE who can bring strong technical capability while also having an interest in client development and progressing toward a Principal-level position.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering and building design work across assigned projects.
• Develop and review structural calculations, drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Apply applicable building codes, standards, and engineering practices to project designs.
• Analyze structural conditions and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Coordinate technical work throughout project design and delivery.
• Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Support project development and client relationships where appropriate.
• Contribute to project planning, coordination, and timely completion of deliverables.
• Take increasing ownership of project and client responsibilities as experience develops.

Requirements

• 5+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Building design experience required.
• Strong structural engineering and analytical capabilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Experience with client development or business development is a plus.
• Interest in developing toward a Principal-level role.
• Long-term potential for ownership/equity.
