Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller in Edmonton to oversee financial operations and reporting while supporting the effective management of accounting processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong property accounting software experience, with particular emphasis on Yardi and Buildium.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
• Manage financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
• Review accounting records for accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor financial information and identify discrepancies or issues.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Establish and maintain effective accounting processes and controls.
• Work with internal teams and stakeholders on financial matters.
• Ensure accounting information is organized, accurate, and delivered on schedule.
• Provide financial insight and support management decision-making.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Controller or senior accounting role.
• Experience with Yardi and Buildium is required.
• Strong knowledge of Yardi is preferred; candidates with Yardi knowledge who are not currently using the system will also be considered.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
